COMPOSITION

• Cloprostenol sodium salt: 0.25 mg;
• Water for injection: Q.S. to 1 mL.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

The active ingredient of the preparation - cloprostenol – is a synthetic analog of F2-a-prostaglandin.  The use of the preparation during the luteal phase of the estrous cycle causes the disappearance of yellow body and creates preconditions for the onset of estrus and ovulation.

USES

The preparation is used to stimulate and synchronize estrus in heifers and cows, to stimulate farrowing in breeding sows. For therapeutic purposes in cattle for functional disorders of the ovaries, cycle periodicity abnormality; no ovulation, a persistent yellow body, lutein cyst, endometritis, pyometra.
Abortion in the events of normal and pathologic pregnancy during the first half. During a combined therapy of follicular cyst.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not administer to pregnant animals in which labor or artificial labor stimulation is undesirable.

PRECAUTIONS

Animals may only be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 24 hours of preparation administration.  Milk is fit for food with no limitatio.

• 2-mL vials No.10;
• 20-mL vials.

STORAGE

Store protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C in a manufacturer’s container (List B). Shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.

DOSAGE

The preparations are administered by intramuscular injection in the following doses:

• Breeding sows: 0.7 mL once after 111 days of pregnancy.  Farrow stimulation occurs in 24 hours to 35 hours of administration;

• Cattle: To synchronize estrus, administer 2 mL of the preparation twice with an interval of 10 days.  Administer the first dose in 40 days to 60 days after calving; inject the second dose on the 11th day after the first one.  In 70 hours to 80 hours of the second dose, do artificial fertilization and repeat the same in 24 hours.

In the event of functional disorders of the ovary, administer 2 mL of the preparation and do artificial fertilization during the first estrus.  If no estrus occurs, repeat administration on the 11th day and do artificial fertilization in 72 hours to 76 hours.  In the event of uterus diseases, administer 2 mL of the preparation, repeat injection on the 11th day, do artificial fertilization on the 14th day and repeat it in 24 hours.
