CHARACTERS


A light yellow to dark yellow colored, oily liquid, having a specific odor.

COMPOSITION


1 mL of the drug contains an active ingredient:
Closantel: 50.0 mg


PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES


Closantel is an antiparasitic agent, a salicylanilide derivative. The mode of action of closantel is inhibiting oxidative phosphorylation in a parasite. A specific action of the drug is to stimulate ATP enzyme this resulting in the uncoupling of electron transport-associated phosphorylation. This, in turn, causes change in energy metabolism in the parasite and, as a result, its death.


USES


Cattle, small cattle: To treat diseases caused by parasites sensitive to closantel such as:
Cattle: The treatment for and prevention of fasciolosis caused by Fasciola spp., gastrointestinal tract strongyloidiasis (Haemonchus contortus, Nematodirus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Oesophagostomum radiatum, Bunostomum spp., Ostertagia spp.), hypodermatosis caused by Hypoderma bovis larvae.
Sheep, goats: The treatment for and prevention of fasciolosis caused by Fasciola hepatica and Fasciola gigantica, gastrointestinal tract strongyloidiasis (Haemonchus contortus, Nematodirus spp., Trichostrongylus spp., Oesophagostomum spp., Bunostomum spp., Chabertia ovis, Ostertagia spp.), estrosis caused by Oestrus ovis larvae.

0.5 mL per 10 kg of body weight, once

Sheep, goats (treatment and prevention) Gastrointestinal tract nematodiasis (bunostomiasis, trichocephaliasis, chabertiasis, esophagostomiasis, haemonchiasis), estrosis

0.5 mL per 10 kg of body weight, once
  Fasciolosis

1.0 mL per 10 kg of body weight, once

Administer the drug intramuscularly or subcutaneously. Single dose is recommended to be divided into several portions and administered into different sites.


CONTRAINDICATIONS


Hypersensitivity to the drug ingredients.
Do not combine with chloroorganic antiparasitic drugs.
Do not administer to animals during lactation period and to pregnant animals a month prior to and a month after labor.


PRECAUTIONS


Animals treated with the drugs may be slaughtered for meat in 28 days of the last use of the drug; milk is fit for food in 14 days.


SIDE EFFECTS


On rare occasions, irritation may occur in the injection site which would disappear on its own and requires no intervention.


HOW SUPPLIED


20-mL, 100-mL, 200-mL,  neutral glass vials of a rated volume of between 1 mL and 500 mL.


STORAGE


Store at a dry place protected from light at a temperature between +5OС and +25OС.
Shelf life is 2 years of the date of manufacture.
