Effectvet, drops ant parasites for cats

Form of application: Extraneously.

Active ingredient: Fenthion.

Packaging: flasks - pipette 0.5 ml.

A clear yellowish to red-brown oily liquid.

COMPOSITION

1 mL of the preparation contains:

• Fenthion: 60 mg;
• Organic solvent: Q.S. to 1 mL.
  

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Fenthion is an insecticide of the group of organothiophosphorous compounds; its mechanism of action is blocking acetylcholinesterase enzyme in central nervous system synapses of a parasite this resulting in its death.  Fenthion does not readily penetrate through the hematoencephalic barrier of warm-blooded animals; but when applied from the outside is readily absorbed through the skin and enters the blood.  Having sucked the blood or lymph of such animal, parasites die.

USES

The preparation is used to treat and prevent cat diseases caused by various ecoparasites (fleas, louses, mites, hair eaters).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use for cats of up to 6 months of age and less than 2 kg in body weight; for dogs of up to 4 months of age and less than 3 kg in body weight.  Do not use for pregnant animals approximately a week before labor.
Do not treat sick and harassed animals.

PRECAUTIONS

After treatment, wash the hands with water and soap.  For 3 days, do not stroke the animal where it was treated with the preparation.  In sensitive animals, salivary discharge, agitation are possible after treatment these phenomena disappearing, as a rule, on their own.  In the event of an occasional poisoning, symptomatic therapy is recommended.  As the antidote, atropine sulphate is used.

STORAGE

Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C in a manufacturer’s container. Keep out of reach children and animals separately from food products and animal feed.  Shelf life is 1.5 years from the date of manufacture.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

The preparations are used extraneously by applying onto the animal skin in the area of the withers and along the back.  The preparation ensures protection against ecoparasites for 1 month.  Repeat application not earlier than in 3 weeks to 4 weeks.
The preparation is applied in the following doses:  

Cats of over 2 kg in body weight and of over 6 months in age: one 0.5-mL pipette of the preparation.
