Form of application: oral administration.
Active ingredient: gentamicin sulfate.
Packaging: 1000-mL flasks.
Gentavet 10 % for oral administration contains 100 mg of gentamycin sulfate. The spectrum of action of gentamycin is similar to that of other aminoglycosides but this antibiotic is more active with respect to Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas auruginosa.
Gentamycin in the form of oral solution was released for such purposes as follows:
- Gentamycin inhibits protein synthesis in bacterial cells;
- Drug resistance develops very rarely and slowly;
- It is used to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract only for it is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, acts locally, produces no toxic effect in the organism of an animal; and
- Unlike powder, 10% solution does not block a system to water poultry.
Diluted in water, the preparation is stable for 24 hours.
At the poultry farms where Gentavet 10 % oral solution was used, following the determination of isolated microflora sensitivity to this preparation, specialists in veterinary ensured themselves of easiness to use and quality of this preparation. Taking account of preparation pricing policy, as well as the method of administration and dosage, economical efficiency of Gentavet 10 % preparation is several times as much higher than that of other preparations containing other antibiotics and chemotherapeutical agents provided that sensitivity to such other preparations is also high.
In quality, Gentavet 10 % equals analogs while in easiness to use it ranks over existing drugs.
