Norfloxvet 15% sterile solution

Form of application: Injection.

Active ingredient: norfloxacin.

Packaging: Vials 100 ml.

An oily, yellow to dark-yellow liquid.

COMPOSITION

• Norfloxacin: 150 mg;
• Solvent: Q.S. to 1 mL.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Norfloxacin refers to fluoroquinolone. The mechanism of action is blocking bacterial DNA-gyrase this resulting in a quick bactericidal action.
Norfloxacin is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms such as E. coli, Salmonella spp., Proteus, Heamophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Pseudomonas auruginosa, Erysipelotrix rhusiopathiae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp., as well as various types of mycoplasma.

USES

The preparation is used to treat infection etiology diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tracts, and urogenital system in cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs, and poultry.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not administer to animals sensitive to the preparation (horses).  Do not administer to animals with their kidneys or liver affected

PRECAUTIONS

In small animals, edema and pain reaction are possible in the site of administration.
Animals may only be slaughtered for meat in 8 days of the last injection of the preparation; poultry may only be slaughtered in 12 days; milk is fit for human food in 4 days.

HOW SUPPLIED

Norfloxvet 15% for injection: 100-mL vials.

STORAGE

Store protected from light in a dry place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °Ñ (List B).  Shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture.

DOSAGE

• Cattle: 1 mL per 20 kg of body weight intramuscularly.
• Calves, sheep, goats, pigs, dogs: 1 mL per 10kg of body weight intramuscularly.
