Gentazimvet Powder

Form of application: oral administration.

Active ingredient: Sulfadimine, Trimethoprim, gentamicin sulfate.

Packaging: PE packs 50 gr, PE packs 1 grams, PE packs 1000 grams.

A white to grayish powder, slightly soluble in water.

COMPOSITION

1.0 g of powder contains:

• Gentamycin sulfate: 40.0 mg;
• Sulfadimine: 100.0 mg;
• Trimethoprim: 20.0 mg;
• Excipient: Q.S. to 1.0 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Gentamycin, sulfadimine, and trimethoprim form a synergistic combination which has a very wide spectrum of antimicrobial action.  The preparation is active with respect to gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, Coccidia, toxoplasms, Rickettsia.  The mechanism of action of the preparation is blocking the synthesis of folic acid in a microbial cell with the result of its development being delayed.

USES

The preparation is used to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tracts, urogenital system, as well as certain specific diseases such as coccidiosis, toxoplasmosis in calves, sheep, pigs, and poultry.

DOSAGE

Orally with feed or water in a dose of 1 g of powder per 5 kg to 10 kg of body weight once daily.

Poultries- prophylaxis - 1,0 g./5–7 kg.(L.) forage or water,
Poultries- treatment - 1,0 g./2,5–3 kg.(L.) forage or water.

 Treat until disease symptoms have disappeared (between 5 days and 7 days).

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to the preparation ingredients.  Do not administer to animals during lactation period, hunting dogs, animals with affected kidneys.

PRECAUTIONS

Do not administer to animals treated with the preparation preparations containing para-aminobenzoic acid (Novocain, procaine amide, and others). 
Animals may only be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 15 days of the last use of the preparation.  If slaughtered during this period of time, feed meat to non-productive animals or dispose it. Milk is fit for food with no limitation.

HOW SUPPLIED

Powder in 1-g, 50-g, 1000-g cans.

STORAGE

Store dry protected from light at a temperature from +10°С to 25 °С in a manufacturer’s container (List B). Shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.
