CHARACTERS
A clear, colorless to light-yellow-colored, oily liquid.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Florphenicol is a synthetic antibiotic belonging to a group called phenicols. It has a bactericidal action against most gram-negative bacteria and gram-positive including: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Enterobacter spp., E. Coli, Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, Haemophilus somnus, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides melaninogenicus, A.?Pleuropneumoniae, P. Multocida, Haemophilus parasuis, Streptococcus suis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Salmonella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Shigella spp. and others.
The drug is active against most mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Mycoplasma hyorhinis and others).
USES
The drug is used to treat and prevent respiratory apparatus diseases caused by Pasteurella haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida, and Haemophilus somnus, interdigital necrobacillosis, bacterial etiology keratoconjunctivitis, to treat cattle hoof diseases (roof rot, acute interdigital necrobacillosis, hoof infectious dermatitis) caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Bacteroides melaninogenicus and other diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to Florphenicol in poultry and pigs.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Cattle:
– Intramuscularly - 20 mg of florphenicol (fluorophenicol) per 1 kg b. w. or 1 mL of the drug per 15 kg of body weight twice with an interval of 48 hours;
– Subcutaneously - 40 mg of florphenicol (fluorophenicol) per 1 kg b. w. or 2 mL of the drug per 15 kg of body weight once.
Pigs:
– Intramuscularly - 15 mg of florphenicol (fluorophenicol) per 1 kg b. w. or 1 mL of the drug per 20 kg of body weight twice with an interval of 48 hours.
A drug dose should not exceed 10 mL per site of administration. Inject into the neck region only
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to the drug, as well as to animals with liver or renal failure.
Do not administer to pigs during a pregnancy period.
Do not administer to laying hens the eggs whereof are intended for human food.
The drug should not be combined with thiamphenicol or chloramphenicol, antibiotics of the penicillin, cephalosporin, and fluoroquinolones groups.
PRECAUTIONS
Pigs may be slaughtered for meat in 24 hours of the last use of the drug.
Meat and internal of birds may be eaten in two days of the last use of the drug.
Until this date, meat of the animals treated with the drug is disposed or fed to non-food-producing animals.
Cattle treated with the drug by intramuscular injections may be slaughtered for meat in 30 days of the last use of the drug; if treated by subcutaneous injections, they may be slaughtered for meat in 44 days of the last use of the drug.
Pigs may be slaughtered for meat in 14 days of the last use of the drug.
Until this date, meat of the animals treated with the drug is disposed or fed to non-food-producing animals.

STORAGE
Store in on unopened original container at a dry place protected from light at a temperature between 5°С and 20°С.
Shelf life is 24 months of the date of manufacture.
