Ofloxacinvet 10% for oral administration

Form of application: oral administration.

Active ingredient: Ofloxacinum.

In the twenty first century, Ofloxacinvet will be one of the most effective agents to treat bacterial etiology diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and urogenital system.

In using Ofloxacinvet, one should keep in mind etiology peculiarities of a causative agent of infection, acuteness and severity of the progress of infection itself, as well as take account of sensitivity to this antibiotic.

CHARACTERS

A clear, yellowish oily liquid.

COMPOSITION

1 mL of the preparation contains Ofloxacinum: 100 mg;

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Ofloxacinum is an antibiotic that refers to fluoroquinolone; it has a well marked antibacterial action, and is more active as compared with norfloxacin and enrofloxacin.  Ofloxacinum is effective against diseases caused by gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.  A semiexcretion period is between 6 hours and 7 hours.  It excreted mostly with urine (90.75%).

USES

The preparation is used to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory tracts, urogenital system caused by microorganisms sensitive to ofloxacinum in cattle, pigs, poultry, dogs, and cats.

STORAGE

Store in a dry place protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C in an unopened manufacturer’s container (List B). Shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not administer to animals with hypersensitivity to the preparation, as well as to animals with their liver or kidneys affected, during pregnancy period.

Do not combine with nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAID), macrolide antibiotics, and tetracycline.

PRECAUTIONS

Animals treated with the preparation may only be slaughtered for meat not earlier than 12 days of the last use of the preparation; milk is fit for food in 4 days.
