Form of application: Extraneously.
Active ingredient: diazinon.
Packaging: 1000-mL flasks.
CHARACTERS
A yellow-colored to brown-colored, oily liquid having a specific odor of components.
COMPOSITION
1 mL of the drug contains:
Active ingredient diazinon - 600 mg;
Auxiliary substance – organic solvent.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Diazinon is an organophosphate pesticide. The mode of its action is inhibiting acetylcholinesterase, an enzyme necessary for proper nervous system function. Diazinon has a broad spectrum of action with a well-pronounced contact activity.
INDICATIONS
The drug is used to treat cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and horses for the purpose of treating and preventing their invasion with various kinds of ectoparasites such as mites Sarcoptidae, flies, blood-sucking lice Haematopinus spp., mites of families Ixodidae (Ixodes ricinus, Rhipicephalus bursa, Dermacentor pictus, Boophilus calcaratus, Hyalomma scupense, etc.), itch mites of families Sarcoptes, Psoroptes, Chorioptes, Notoedres, louse flies Hippoboscidae, and others.
Disinsection and disacarization of empty poultry-farm premises, stock buildings, and other facilities subject to veterinary supervision.
DOSAGE
The drug is used to treat animals in the form of water emulsion by means of the spraying method or bathing method. Prepare a working emulsion of the drug before application directly.
The drug is used in the following doses:
Sheep, goats, pigs, horses - 1000 mL of the drug per 2400 L of water.
The maximum effect for sheep is achieved if the drug is used on the 12th to 16th day after shearing. Generally, if invaded insignificantly, one treatment is sufficient enough. If invaded heavily with mites, a repeated application is recommended in 7 to 10 days. If invaded heavily with sucking lice, a repeated application is in 2 to 3 weeks.
Cattle - 1000 mL of the drug per 1000 L of water.
If invaded heavily with sucking lice, a repeated application is recommended in 3 weeks. If invaded with itch mites, the animals are treated 2 to 3 times with an interval of 10 days. If invaded with other mites, the animals are treated twice with an interval of 21 days.
Poultry houses and stock buildings, preventoriums, isolation wards, cages, coops, and hutches and others are treated by spraying a water emulsion of the drug from spraying devices. Such aerosol spraying is carried out using an aerosol generator of any suitable type. The disinsection and disacarization of stock buildings (poultry houses, fur farming facilities) are performed in the absence of humans and animals (poultry). Before treatment, remove first feed and water residues from the premises; take eggs out of poultry houses; cover milk inventory and milking machines with PE films. The treatment of poultry houses are performed during a process break in the absence of poultry by the atomized spraying method using 2.5% water emulsion (1 L of the drug per 24 L of water) at a rate of between 25 mL/sq. m and 50 mL/sq. m. Spraying is performed twice at an air temperature in the poultry house of between 15 °С and 20 °С with an interval of between 10 days and 20 days, at a temperature of over 20 °С with an interval of between 5 days and 8 days. After a while following the last treatment, ventilate the room for at least 1 hour; perform cleansing; wash thoroughly feeders, drinkers using allowable detergents; and accommodate then poultry in the room. To disinfect stock buildings, feed processing (food mixing) buildings, artificial insemination points, and other facilities subject to veterinary supervision against zoophilic flies, make use of a 0.06% water emulsion of the drug (100 mL of the drug per 100 L of water) by spraying selectively insect sites at a rate of between 80 mL/sq. m and 100 mL/sq. m of the surface being treated. 1 to 1.5 hours following the treatment, ventilate the room for at least 1 hour; perform cleansing; wash thoroughly feeders, drinkers using allowable detergents; and accommodate then animals in the room. To destroy fly larva biotopes (trash cans and dung-yards), make use of a 0.06% water emulsion of the drug at a rate of between 1 L/sq. m and 3 L/sq. m of substrate surface.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to drug ingredients.
Do not administer to animals of up to 4 weeks of age.
Do not treat exhausted or athirst animals in a bath.
WARNINGS
Before performance of mass treatment, test first the drug with a small group of animals (10 to 15 heads) of different fatness and age. If no complication for 2 to 3 days, proceed with the treatment of all the stock.
Do not allow the animals to swallow the working emulsion.
When handling the drug, wear working clothes (an overall, a rubberized apron, a hat, rubber boots and gloves, protective goggles, a respirator). Do not smoke, drink or eat during treatment. Once work has been completed, wash thoroughly your face and hands with soap and water, rinse your mouth. In the event that the drug contacts to the skin or mucous tunics, wash it immediately with water; if swallowed, drink half a glass of water with 2 to 3 tables of activated charcoal. If the poisoning symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, general weakness appear, seek medical attention.
After treatment, wash your hands with soap and water. In sensitive animals, salivary discharge, excitement after treatment have been reported these phenomena disappearing generally all by themselves. In the event of accidental poisoning, a symptomatic therapy is recommended. As an antidote, make use of atropine sulfate.
Animals may be slaughtered for meat 28 days of treatment. Milk from milkers must not be used for food purposes within 7 days of the last treatment.
