PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Thiamuline hydrogen fumarate is a semisynthetic derivative of a diterpene antibiotic pleuromutilin.
Thiamuline is active against mycoplasmas, hemophilic bacteria, treponemas, spirochetes, staphylococci, micrococci, streptococci, clostridias, leptospiras, pasterellas, corynebacteria, listerias.
This antibiotic has a bacteriostatic action. The mode of action of the drug is inhibiting protein
synthesis by binding microorganisms sensitive to the drug with 50S ribosomal subunit,
this disturbing protein synthesis in bacteria cells. The drug exhibits a pronounced in vitro activity
against Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, Brachyspira pilosicoli, mycoplasmas (Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, M.hyorhinis, M.hyosynoviae, M. dispar, Ureaplasma spp, M.gallisepticum, M.synoviae, M.meleagridis); gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium pyogenes); gram-negative bacteria (Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella pneumoniae, Actinobacillus (Haemophilus) spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Bacteroides spp., Campylobacter coli, Lawsonia intracellularis).

INDICATIONS

The drug is used to treat and prevent gastrointestinal infections, respiratory infections and arthritis in pigs and calves.

DOSAGE

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to drug ingredients.

INTERACTIONS

Do not administer monensine, narasine, or salynomycin less than seven days before and after treatment with the drug.

SIDE EFFECTS

In pigs, erythema is rarely reported which disappears after drug administration termination with no therapeutic intervention.

WARNINGS

The drug is first tested with a small group (7 to 8 heads) of animals.
If no complication for 2 to 3 days, administer the drug to all the stock.
Animals may only be slaughtered for meat in 14 days of the last use of the drug.

STORAGE

Store at a dry place protected from light at a temperature between 10^ОС and 25^ОС in an
unopened original container. Do not freeze!
Shelf life is 2 years of the date of manufacture.
