COMPOSITION

One tablet of the preparation contains:Medroxyprogesterone acetate: 5 mg.

CHARACTERS

White to grayish tablets with a specific odor of the components.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

The active ingredient of the preparation – medroxyprogesterone acetate – inhibits the gonadotrophic function of the hypophysis this resulting in delayed follicle maturing in the ovaries, produces changes in the endometrium which oppose to fertilization, delays estrus development, inhibits sexual arousal in animals.

USES

The preparation is used to suppress the active phase of an estrous cycle, delay estrus, prevent pseudopregnancy and pseudolactation, correct behavior in dogs and cats.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

The preparation is administered orally in the following doses:
– Dogs: To prevent estrus, administer 1 tablet twice weekly; if administration is terminated, estrus would occur in some 2 weeks;
– To terminate estrus, administer 1 tablet once daily.
– Cats: To prevent estrus, administer 1 tablet once weekly;
– To terminate estrus, administer 1/2 tablet once daily.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not administer to pregnant animals, in the event of pseudopregnancy, diseases of the urogenital and endocrinal systems, cycle periodicity abnormalities, mammary tumors in immature animals (prior to the first estrus). The preparation is not recommended to administrate in over 3 days of the onset of estrus.

SIDE EFFECTS

In rare instances, an increase in body weight, depression, and aggressiveness can be observed.

Tablets.

STORAGE

Store dry protected from light at a temperature not exceeding 25 °С in a manufacturer’s container (List B). Shelf life is 3 years from the date of manufacture.
